On 24 October 2026, Demo Horizon’s Founding Partner, Dr Bakary Dramé, participated in the first session of the “Rendez-vous du Football Malien”, organised by the Malian Football Federation (FEMAFOOT) in Bamako. Held under the theme “Professionalising Ligue 1: Key Issues and Challenges”, the event brought together perspectives on the legal, organisational and economic foundations of professional football. As a sports lawyer, Dr Bakary Dramé contributed to the discussions on the legal and regulatory framework supporting this transition. Clear responsibilities, sound club governance, secure contractual relationships and protection of the rights of players and other stakeholders are essential foundations for a sustainable professional league. Their practical implementation must reflect the realities faced by clubs and the resources available to them. This participation reflects Demo Horizon’s commitment to supporting clubs, players and sports institutions in addressing the legal and governance challenges of a changing sporting environment.
