As part of our firm's ongoing commitment to strengthening institutional capacity in public procurement, our Founding Partner Dr Bakary Dramé delivered a five-day capacity building programme on Public Procurement Dispute Management from 27 to 31 July 2026 in La Rochelle, France. The programme was organised by Forhom SAS and brought together public procurement professionals seeking to enhance their expertise in preventing and resolving contractual disputes.
The programme provided an in-depth analysis of the legal and practical dimensions of dispute management throughout the public procurement cycle. Participants explored both preventive and adjudicative mechanisms designed to ensure the efficient and effective resolution of disputes arising during the performance of public contracts.
The programme covered, among other topics:
Contractual claims and claims management in public procurement;
Conciliation as an amicable dispute resolution mechanism;
Mediation in public contracts;
Dispute Boards as proactive tools for dispute avoidance and early resolution;
Arbitration in public procurement and public contracts; and
Judicial litigation involving public procurement contracts.
Designed with a strong practical focus, the programme combined legal analysis, comparative perspectives, case studies, interactive discussions and practical exercises. Participants examined best practices for managing contractual disputes, mitigating legal and financial risks, and selecting the most appropriate dispute resolution mechanisms depending on the nature and complexity of each case.
This engagement reflects our firm's recognised expertise in public procurement law, public-private partnerships (PPPs), international arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
